Enrolment & Waitlist

Our programs are in high demand, and most age groups have waitlists throughout the year. We encourage families to join the waitlist well in advance of their desired start date. Applications can be submitted as soon as your child is born.

Please note that unborn children cannot be added to the waitlist. Parents must wait until after their child’s birth to submit an application.

Waitlist Policy & Enrolment PRocess

When accepting an enrolment offer at a Day Care Society of Banff location, please complete the following steps:

To secure your child’s placement, all families are required to submit:
  • A $50 administration/orientation fee once the space has been accepted and confirmed
  • This fee is non-refundable and applies to all accounts (full-time and part-time)
  • Payment of the first month’s child care fees in advance
  • All required payments must be completed within 48 hours  of accepting the offered space.

 Family Orientation
  • When families come in to complete their registration payment, they will be provided with a tour of the centre.
  • A one-hour orientation visit will then be scheduled for families and children. 


Submit Completed Registration Forms
Please return all completed registration forms to the Managing Director prior to your child’s start date.
  • Provincial licensing regulations require these documents to be on file before a child may attend the program.
  • Families are responsible for keeping all contact information up to date and confirming details at least once per year or whenever requested.

Obtain a Security Fob

All Day Care Society of Banff centres use a secure entry system. Families will access the facility using a security fob.

  • Each family may be issued a maximum of three (3) fobs.
  • A $15 deposit per fob is required and is refundable upon return.
  • Lost fobs must be reported immediately so they can be deactivated for security purposes.

Enrolment Process

Waitlist Policy

Often, all spaces in a given age group are full, and a waitlist is maintained. Please note that unborn children cannot be placed on the waitlist — parents must wait until their child is born before registering.

Waitlist Policies
  1. Priority for current families: Children already enrolled in a Day Care Society of Banff program have priority when transitioning to the next age group.
  2. Banff residents prioritized: Families currently living in Banff receive priority for all program openings. Proof of residency is required.
  3. Spaces for out-of-town families: If a space becomes available and no Banff resident is waiting, it will be offered to families outside Banff.
  4. 48-hour response window: When a space is offered, families must respond within 48 hours. If no response is received, the offer is considered declined.

Declined Offers:
• If a family declines or does not respond within 48 hours, the next family on the list will be contacted.
• The family will receive a second offer when another space becomes available.
• If the second offer is declined, the child will be moved to the bottom of the waitlist for their age group.

Registration fee: To secure your child’s space, a $50 registration fee along with the first month’s tuition must be paid within 48 hours of acceptance. If payment is not received, the space will be offered to the next family on the waitlist.
